Bookreview: Digital Idols by Jon Frater

A week ago I received a free copy from Netgalley in return for an honest review. When I first saw the cover I was intrigued, the description further caught my attention. Digital Idols is the story about Norma, a girl with an unique gift to access all thing digital, living in a world seemingly strange and futuristic, and at the same time feeling oddly familiar. A world run by big corporations and GovCorp, run by MegaBrains through the digital Linkspace. I found the world, and the people in it very pleasantly portrayed, painting a clear image while at the same time giving room for the reader's own imagination. The mixture of the described world, both 'real' and digital was very interesting and well described, although I must admit there were a few times I had to read back a paragraph when I got confused about which reality the characters were in. Of course I developed an image of where the story would go to when I started reading, but I was surprised by the ending of the book. I really loved this book, and will definitely be on the lookout for more of the same writer!
